My Story

I loved every minute of the journey

A Musician is Born

Born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 19, 1964 to a loving and nurturing mother and a father who played drums in a top 40 band in the late 50's and early 60's. My grand father was an opera singer and my grand mother was his pianist. At the age of 4 my grand mother started teaching me how to play piano. I took formal lessons when I was 6-7 years old when my parents moved to Florida. At age 11 I found my father's drum set in a storage closet and asked him to set them up. I had a couple of friends in the neighborhood who knew how to play the drum set already. I would invite them over and I would watch and listen to them play and would try to emulate what I saw and heard and within a short time I started getting very good. By 17 I had my first professional gig. I started taking formal lessons after high school from a great jazz drummer named Mickey McGann. I continued to play in bands locally around Hollywood and Ft. Lauderdale area. In my 20's I was one of the premier local drummers in the area and did some recording sessions at Criteria Studios in Miami along with other recording studios in the area and started teaching as well. I continued playing and recording with anyone and everyone I could. Very rarely would I ever be in just one band. I have played in different original projects as well. Currently I am the drummer for the last 10 years of an original fusion band named Chill Switch and just finished recording our first of three CD's which will out on the market soon.
